The restless mind
We need to pay attention to what we’re feeling in this moment.
Whether it’s sadness, resentment, or worry.
But we don’t need to absorb it —
just notice that there’s a feeling passing through here.
Because the mind is rarely still.
It moves here and there, between yesterday and tomorrow,
until we get lost in our thoughts:
“Why do I feel like this?”
The truth is...
we don’t always need a reason to answer that “why.” No fabrication. End of story.
Suffering doesn’t come from the feeling itself.
It comes from the self that tries to fight against the feeling, finding reasons—
Instead of acknowledging it.
When we’re angry, we react impulsively from old patterns, and we always find a reason to proclaim and own that feeling.
It’s the self we've carried within our minds for so long.
We begin to believe that it’s who we are.
And that’s ok.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
Maybe… we can slow down and be responsible for what we’re feeling.
Even for a moment…
—And maybe
We’ll realize that those feelings were never really ours, and we’ll finally see our true self.
If we ignore our inner world,
The outer world becomes chaotic, too.
The world spins so fast and so loudly,
that even the mind finds it hard to rest in now.
