Michael D. Wykoff
Michael Wykoff is a writer, editor, and university lecturer at Srinakharinwirot University’s College of Social Communication Innovation in Bangkok, where he teaches mass communication and digital media to delightfully unimpressed undergraduates. A San Francisco émigré, he has lived in Thailand since 2011, with temple bells and Buddhist neighbors rearranging his thinking about control, attachment, and what’s genuinely worth getting worked up about. Before the classroom, he spent a career across high-tech, international development, and communications, mostly in the business of finding new solutions to old problems. He’s an amateur philosopher, someone who reads the Stoics for practical use rather than for ammunition. He writes on culture, film, and expatriate life at Being Wykovian and on Substack.
