Homemade Focaccia

Does anybody else love the smell of freshly baked bread—like when you walk into a bakery? 🍞🌿

I baked focaccia for the first time—an Italian-style bread made completely from scratch. I mixed the ingredients, kneaded the dough, and shaped it with my hands. 😆

I got inspired after watching With Love, Meghan—episode "Love is in the Details" where she shared a super simple bread recipe. I saw it and thought I have to try this! 😍

I figured trying something new might bring some excitement to my usual dinner routine. So let’s switch it up and try baking some bread! And honestly, the steps were so easy to follow.

At first, I thought bread was just…bread, I couldn’t remember how focaccia tasted since I’d only had it a few times before. But wow…focaccia really does have a unique texture. It’s soft and fluffy like ciabatta but even more chewy and moist because of the olive oil in the dough it keeps it from drying out.

And when it came out of the oven? Even better than I expected! 😍 Golden brown, crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. The aroma of olive oil and rosemary was amazing, and the flavor from the caramelized shallots and capers added the perfect layer of depth. Honestly, it felt like I was eating a piece of art, right? Even looks like art! 🎨🖼️

A little olive oil + a dash of salt, pepper and cayenne, who else loves that extra spicy kick? 🌶️ 🧂

The bread provides carbs that keep you full longer, and the olive oil supports heart health. The herbs smell amazing and add a nice flavor. It's a beautifully balanced bite.

The lentil soup is packed with fiber, and the spices are comforting. I add a tablespoon of sour cream and some parsley on top. So healthy and satisfying!

SO good! Feels like a Mediterranean feast at home. Delicious and healthy. Win-win! 🥇💖
